The 2010-2014 term of Oakville council has accomplished all of its major goals:

Oakville council has accomplished more in this term, but kept the rate of tax increases to the same level as the previous four years.

Regional Accomplishments

bullet Stopped the subsidization of new homes with the property taxes of existing homes.  Development charges were increased to cover the associated costs
bulletPreserved 49 177 hectares of land from development creating a Regional Natural Heritage System (in combination with the Greenbelt - Regional Official Plan 38)  which is approximately 51% of the Region.
bulletReduced or froze property taxes on Regional programs for 8 straight years

Ward 4 Accomplishments in recent years

bullet Splash pad and playground at West Oak Trails Community Park.
bullet Completion of the new baseball diamonds and the leash free dog run at Palermo Park at Dundas and Postmaster.
bullet Construction of the Oakville Soccer Clubs indoor soccer facility at Pine Glen
bullet Expansion of the Glen Abbey Branch of the Oakville Library.
bullet Resurfacing of the Tennis Courts at Glen Abbey.
bullet Increased Speed monitoring by Halton Police.
bullet Completion of the new bridge over the QEW at Fourth Line.
bullet Opening of 3 New Schools.
bullet Implementation of the new Grid Style Oakville Transit bus system.
bullet Development and implementation of the Bronte Road / Hwy 25 bypass of Oakville's Historic White Oak Tree
bullet Province on Ontario donates 50 acres at Dundas and Third Line for the new 1.5 million sq ft Hospital.
bullet Major road resurfacing improvements and the introduction of Bicycle lanes. 
bullet Major connector roads are realigned to enhance traffic calming and pedestrian safety.  Many new 3 and 4 way stops and traffic signals introduced.
bullet Many Ward 4 properties had their property assessment reduced by MPAC - Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
bullet Additional parking spaces added at both the Oakville and Bronte Go Stations to support Ward 4 commuters.
bullet Commencement of the widening of Upper Middle Road West between Postmaster and Bronte.
